Visiting Sutton BNI is a great way to make new friends and business contacts with a similar outlook to you, who want to grow their business and at the same time help others to grow theirs.
The BNI Sutton Members help each other increase their business through a structured, positive and professional ‘referral-based’ group that enables them to grow long-term, meaningful relationships with fellow quality business people.
Sutton has over 6,800 businesses today. Business has always been a major part of the Sutton economy since the Victorian era. The oldest business currently operating in Sutton, Pearson Cycles, dates from the 1860s; it was originally a blacksmith shop, but in the 1890s changed to bicycle making and repair. The Pearsons have run the cycle business from the same High Street location ever since. It has been recognised by Guinness World Records as the oldest bicycle shop in the world.
The Sutton area has had a number of famous residents over the years: Joan Armatrading, David Bellamy, Noel Coward, James Cracknell, Quentin Crisp, James Hunt, Penelope Keith, Rebecca Litchfeild, Bradley McIntosh, Sir Harry Secombe, Ian Stewart and Helen Young.
On January 23, 1963, Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman became permanent members of the Rolling Stones, on that day's gig at the Red Lion Pub (now the Winning Post) in Sutton.
Sutton has many national and independent business brands that work together to create a vibrant and flourishing business community. BNI Sutton passionately helps the many different sizes and kinds of businesses that flourish in our area, as it is very significant that when a prospective customer is looking for your product or service, nothing carries more weight than a recommendation from someone they know well.
For many years Sutton BNI has had a prominent role as a leading group within business in Sutton, due to BNI being the most successful business networking organisation in the UK and around the world. The philosophy of BNI is “Givers Gain” - if you help others to win business, they will want to help you to win business in return. It’s simple and it works!
